This simple citrus champagne vinaigrette salad dressing recipe is so quick to make and so delicious that you will never crave grocery store salad dressings anymore.

Why use store-bought dressings that are full of junk when you can easily make your own superior, homemade dressing?

EASY PEASY TIP #1: Use a mason jar and shake it all up! No need to use bowls or whisks. You can shake it all up and store it in the same jar.

CITRUS CHAMPAGNE VINAIGRETTE SALAD DRESSING RECIPE

CITRUS CHAMPAGNE VINEGAR

We love the O Citrus Champagne Vinegar (link to Amazon) for this recipe. You can use just a plain champagne vinegar if you’d like, but this particular one is really delicious!

Champagne vinegar is produced by taking actual champagne or sparkling wine and having it undergo a fermentation process which turns it into vinegar.

ORANGE JUICE

You must use fresh squeezed orange juice. You only need a little bit, so 1 fresh orange will give you more than you need. This makes a huge difference so don’t skimp on this.

HONEY or MAPLE SYRUP

This will balance the vinegar in the recipe and adds a sweet touch to any of your homemade salad dressings. We normally use honey, but it is also delicious with real maple syrup as well. Try both and see which you like best!

DIJON MUSTARD

Use any high-quality dijon mustard, like Grey Poupon or any other brand that you enjoy. This not only gives your dressing more flavor, but it also acts as an emulsifier so the oil and vinegar don’t separate too quickly.

SALT

We like to use coarse kosher salt.

EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL

Use your favorite extra virgin olive oil. We love using California Olive Ranch Extra Virgin Olive Oil. This one is real olive oil (there are a lot of scams with fake olive oil!)

EASY PEASY TIP #2: Simply store your homemade dressing at room temperature on your kitchen counter for up to 3 days. But this is so delicious that it probably won’t even last that long anyway!

KITCHEN TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT

MASON JAR WITH LID

We love using mason jars with reusable plastic lids (just make sure you get the right size lid if you order lids separately). You can use the regular mason jar lids, but these reusable lids are leak-proof and you can continue to reuse them.

MEASURING SPOONS

You can measure all the ingredients except the olive oil with measuring spoons.

MEASURING CUPS

You’ll need a Pyrex measuring cup to measure the olive oil.

HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE CHAMPAGNE VINAIGRETTE

Grab your mason jar and add 2 tablespoons of champagne vinegar, 2 tablespoons of fresh orange juice, 1 tablespoon of honey, 1/2 teaspoon of dijon mustard, and 1/4 teaspoon of Kosher salt.

Screw the lid onto the jar and shake it for 10 seconds or so.

Remove the lid and add 1/4 cup of extra-virgin olive oil to the jar. Put the lid back on and give it a good shake for 10 seconds.

Your champagne vinaigrette dressing is all ready to be used!

HOW TO STORE YOUR CHAMPAGNE VINAIGRETTE DRESSING

You can safely store your dressing right in your sealed jar with the lid firmly secured for 3 days right on your kitchen counter.

If you’d like to refrigerate your dressing instead, you can store for up to a week. Keep in mind that the extra virgin olive oil will solidify in the refrigerator (if it doesn’t, it means that it was fake olive oil!)

To use refrigerated dressing, take it out of the refrigerator about an hour before you plan on using it, and give it a good shake. If you made a larger quantity of dressing, it may take longer to liquify again.

You can also place your jar in a bowl of warm water. Once everything has liquified, give the jar a good shake and it is ready to use.

Once you’ve tried making this homemade vinaigrette, be sure to comment and let us know how you like it!

This versatile salad dressing recipe is wonderful for so many of your favorite salads including arugula salad, chopped salads, beet salads, and more.

This is the perfect dressing for a summer salad. It paired excellently with peaches, goat cheese, and mixed greens. Will never go back to store bought dressings after trying this!
